An affordable luxury service for man's (and woman's!!) best friend.
Hello, and thank you for visiting my website - you’re very welcome!
My name is Krissy Anthistle and I’m the owner and operator of my K9 Pamper Unit (KPU) Mobile Dog Grooming business. I’m a qualified (Level 3 City & Guilds) and fully insured dog groomer with over 8 years experience. I was trained by Lesley Garrett and Kelly Henley at the well renowned Evercreech Training Centre in Somerset.
I upgraded my dog grooming van to a Mercedes EV Sprinter in 2024. As far as I‘m aware, I’m the first eco friendly/carbon neutral groomer in this area. My van was professionally converted by Wet Pets of Blanford Forum (the UK’s premier module dog grooming van converters) and was a first for them. My new van has a range of around 100 miles so with that in mind before you contact me for an appointment PLEASE CHECK the website for the areas I cover as I'm somewhat limited as to where I can go. Saving the planet does have its constraints!
KPU is a dog grooming salon on wheels. I have all the equipment you would expect see in a standard dog grooming salon; the only difference is I come to you! KPU is dedicated to “Grime Prevention” (please see the logo on the my van). No dog is too dirty or too smelly for the powerful Redcape Hydrobath in my van. The hydrobath is a really cool bit of kit. It has an adjustable thermostat that heats the water and allows me to mix shampoo with warm water enabling a deep clean for any dog’s coat - however dirty. So much better and more effective than the old hose pipe in the garden or dunk in the bath approach!! Following the hydrobath treatment, your dog will be dried (whilst using a “Happy Hood” (a snood that goes over a dog’s ears helping them to be comfortable and relaxed with the high powered dryer). Finally I will trim/groom your dog’s coat and trim nails as required.
My aim as a professional groomer is to ensure your dog is as comfortable being groomed as I can make him/her. Some dogs can be very nervous if it is their first time. Therefore, on my first visit to you I will ask how you would like your dog groomed then I will ask your dog - he/she may have a different perspective!! Joking aside, my intention is to provide you and your dog with an experienced, bespoke at home service that works for both of you. I’m very happy to advise owners on brushing techniques and general coat maintenance free of charge because I'm convinced that if groomer and owner work closely together the dog is the real winner.
In my experience, most dogs will benefit from a visit from me every 4 to 6 weeks depending on coat/breed. I try to book well in advance so that all my customers get the service they want and I will look to plan ahead to fit in with your diary and commitments wherever possible.
